Affordable housing
On a 20 acres hilly lot, 389 affordable houses consisting of many flexible types are being built. The houses share the same prefabricated structural elements and grid and can adapt to different family sizes, from 1 to 6 persons. Eeach has a front patio and a small private backyard. Each facade is articulated with different architectural elements in order to provide dynamic variations. Yet the new urban settlement retains its distinct identity.
Street Pattern
In this urban project, the street scape is as important as the housing units itselves, and it must be articulated to provide bifurcating paths and views, resulting in a non linear grid of roads that provide unexpected piazzetas and vistas, a new pedestrian village is born.
